*📚25 Authentic Ahadeeth on Knowledge: The Virtue of Seeking, Learning & Teaching📚*
Hadith 1 — Allah Intends Good for the One Whom He Gives Understanding
“If Allah intends good for someone, He grants him understanding of the religion. I am only a distributor, while Allah is the One who gives. This Ummah will continue to remain steadfast upon the command of Allah, and those who oppose them will not harm them until the command of Allah comes.”
Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī 71
Hadith 2 — The Example of Guidance and Knowledge
Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī 79
Hadith 3 — The Path of Knowledge Leads to Paradise
“Whoever relieves a believer of a hardship from the hardships of this world, Allah will relieve him of a hardship from the hardships of the Day of Resurrection. Whoever makes things easy for someone in difficulty, Allah will make things easy for him in this world and the Hereafter. Whoever conceals the faults of a Muslim, Allah will conceal his faults in this world and the Hereafter. Allah continues to help the servant as long as the servant helps his brother. Whoever follows a path seeking knowledge, Allah will make easy for him a path to Paradise. No people gather in one of the houses of Allah, reciting the Book of Allah and studying it together, except that tranquility descends upon them, mercy covers them, the angels surround them, and Allah mentions them among those who are with Him. Whoever is held back by his deeds will not be advanced by his lineage.”
Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim 2699a
Hadith 4 — The Scholars Are the Heirs of the Prophets
“Whoever follows a path seeking knowledge, Allah will make easy for him a path to Paradise. The angels lower their wings in approval of the seeker of knowledge. The inhabitants of the heavens and the earth, even the fish in the depths of the water, seek forgiveness for the scholar. The virtue of the scholar over the worshipper is like the superiority of the full moon over all the other stars. The scholars are the heirs of the Prophets. The Prophets do not leave behind dinars or dirhams; rather, they leave behind knowledge. Whoever takes hold of it has taken an abundant share.”
Sunan Abī Dāwūd 3641 — Ṣaḥīḥ according to al-Albānī.
Hadith 5 — Wisdom Must Be Acted Upon and Taught
“There is no envy except in two cases: a person whom Allah has given wealth and he spends it rightly, and a person whom Allah has given wisdom and he judges according to it and teaches it.”
Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī 73
Hadith 6 — The Best Learn the Qur’an and Teach It
“The best of you are those who learn the Qur’an and teach it.”
Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī 5027
Hadith 7 — Convey the Truth You Have Learned

Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī 3461
Hadith 8 — Calling People to Guidance
“Whoever calls to guidance will have a reward similar to the rewards of those who follow him, without that diminishing anything from their rewards. Whoever calls to misguidance will bear a sin similar to the sins of those who follow him, without that diminishing anything from their sins.”
Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim 2674
Hadith 9 — Beneficial Knowledge Continues After Death

Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim 1631

“Whoever acquires knowledge that should be sought for the sake of Allah, but acquires it only to obtain some worldly benefit, will not smell the fragrance of Paradise on the Day of Resurrection.”
Sunan Abī Dāwūd 3664 — Ṣaḥīḥ according to Al-Albānī.
Hadith 11 — Knowledge Is a Divine Gift
“While I was sleeping, I was brought a cup of milk. I drank until I saw its freshness coming out through my fingernails. Then I gave what remained to ʿUmar ibn al-Khaṭṭāb. They asked: ‘How did you interpret it, O Messenger of Allah?’ He said: ‘Knowledge.’”

“May Allah brighten the person who hears a hadith from us, memorizes it, and conveys it. Perhaps a bearer of knowledge conveys it to one who has greater understanding than him, and perhaps a bearer of knowledge is not himself a person of understanding.”
Sunan Abī Dāwūd 3660 — Ṣaḥīḥ according to Al-Albānī.

Sunan Abī Dāwūd 3659 — Ṣaḥīḥ according to al-Albānī.
Hadith 14 — The One Present Should Convey to the One Absent
“Let the one who is present convey it to the one who is absent, for perhaps the one to whom it is conveyed will understand it better than the one who heard it directly.”
Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī 67
Hadith 15 — Teaching Should Be Done With Wisdom and Consideration

“Allah does not take away knowledge by snatching it from the people. Rather, He takes away knowledge by taking away the scholars, until He leaves no scholar. Then people will take ignorant leaders, they will be asked questions and give religious verdicts without knowledge; they will go astray and lead others astray.”
Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī 100

“Among the signs of the Hour are that knowledge will be taken away, ignorance will become widespread, alcohol will be consumed, and fornication will become prevalent.”
Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī 80
Hadith 23 — Knowledge Must Be Sought With Understanding
“We were with the Prophet ﷺ when the inner part of a date palm was brought to him. He said, ‘Among the trees there is a tree whose example is like that of a Muslim.’ I wanted to say that it was the date palm, but I was the youngest of the people, so I remained silent. “While the Prophet ﷺ was speaking to the people in a gathering, a Bedouin came and asked, ‘When will the Hour be?’ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ continued speaking. When he finished, he asked, ‘Where is the person who asked about the Hour?’ The man said, ‘Here I am, O Messenger of Allah.’ He said, ‘When trust is lost, then await the Hour.’ The man asked, ‘How will it be lost?’ He said, ‘When authority is entrusted to those who are not qualified for it, then await the Hour.’”
Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī 59
