TIMES WHEN DUA/SUPPLICATIONS ARE LIKELY TO BE ACCEPTED

 

 

Times when Dua (Supplication) is more likely to be Accepted

 

Here is a comprehensive list of times when dua (supplication) is more likely to be accepted, based on the Quran and authentic Ahadeeth.

### **1. The Last Third of the Night (الثلث الأخير من الليل)**

 

 

The Prophet (ﷺ) said: *"Our Lord descends to the lowest heaven in the last third of the night and says: ‘Who is calling upon Me that I may answer him? Who is asking of Me that I may give him? Who is seeking My forgiveness that I may forgive him?’"*

 

[Sahih al-Bukhari 1145].

 

ينزل ربنا تبارك وتعالى كل ليلة إلى السماء الدنيا حين يبقى ثلث الليل الآخر فيقول: من يدعوني فأستجيب له؟ من يسألني فأعطيه؟ من يستغفرني فأغفر له؟

 

[صحيح البخاري 1145]

### **2. Between Adhan and Iqamah (بين الأذان والإقامة)**

 

 

*"A dua made between the Adhan and Iqamah is not rejected."*

 

[Sunan Abu Dawud 521, Sahih al-Jami' 3408].

 

*"الدعاء بين الأذان والإقامة لا يرد"* [سنن أبي داود 521]

### **3. While Prostrating (السجود)**

 

 

*"The closest a servant is to his Lord is when he is prostrating, so increase your supplications in it."*

 

[Sahih Muslim 482].

 

 

*"أقرب ما يكون العبد من ربه وهو ساجد، فأكثروا الدعاء"*

 

[صحيح مسلم 482]

### **4. During Rain (وقت نزول المطر)**

 

*"Two supplications are never rejected: the supplication at the time of the call to prayer and under rainfall."* [Sunan Abi Dawud 2540].

 

*"دعوتان لا تردان: دعوة عند النداء، وتحت المطر"*

### **5. On Friday (يوم الجمعة)**

 

 

*"There is an hour on Friday when no Muslim asks Allah for something good but He will grant it."*

 

[Sahih al-Bukhari 935].

 

 

إن في الجمعة ساعة لا يوافقها عبد مسلم يسأل الله فيها خيراً إلا أعطاه إياه

 

[صحيح البخاري 935]

### **6. Laylat al-Qadr (ليلة القدر)**

 

 

*"The Night of Decree is better than a thousand months."* [Quran 97:3].

 

 

*"لَيْلَةُ الْقَدْرِ خَيْرٌ مِنْ أَلْفِ شَهْرٍ"* [القرآن 97:3]

### **7. While Drinking Zamzam Water (شرب ماء زمزم)**

 


*"Zamzam water is for whatever it is drunk for."*

### **8. The Du’a of a Traveler (دعوة المسافر)**

 

*"Three supplications are answered without doubt: the supplication of the oppressed, the traveler, and the parent for their child."* [Sunan al-Tirmidhi].

ثلاث دعوات مستجابات: دعوة المظلوم، ودعوة المسافر، ودعوة الوالد لولده"* [سنن الترمذي]

### **9. After Obligatory Prayers (بعد الصلوات المفروضة)**

 

*"The supplication after the obligatory prayers is heard."* [Sunan al-Tirmidhi 3499].

 

*"الدعاء بعد الصلاة المكتوبة لا يرد"* [سنن الترمذي 3499]

### **10. When a Father Prays for His Child (دعوة الوالد لولده)**

 

*"Three supplications are answered: the supplication of a parent for their child, the supplication of a fasting person, and the supplication of a traveler."* [Sunan Ibn Majah].

 

ثلاث دعوات مستجابات: دعوة الوالد على ولده، ودعوة الصائم، ودعوة المسافر [سنن ابن ماجه]

*"Beware of the supplication of the oppressed, for there is no barrier between it and Allah."*

*"اتقوا دعوة المظلوم فإنها تحمل على الغمام، يقول الله: وعزتي وجلالي لأنصرنك ولو بعد حين"* [صحيح البخاري]
