BASIC QURANIC STATISTICS

 

 

 

 

 Basic Quranic Statistics

 

 

The Holy Quran contains **114 chapters (surahs)** and more than six thousand verses (**6,236 verses**), organized into **30 sections (Juz/Para)**.

 

 

Each section is divided into **2 parts** called "Hizb," making a total of **60 Hizbs** in the Quran (each Juz consists of two Hizbs).

 

 

Of the Quranic chapters, **87 are Meccan** and **27 are Medinan**.

 

 

All chapters begin with the Basmalah ("In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful"), except for **Surah At-Tawbah (Chapter 9)**. **Surah An-Naml (Chapter 27)** contains two Basmalahs.

 

 

The longest chapter is **Surah Al-Baqarah** with **286 verses**, and the shortest is **Surah Al-Kawthar** with **3 verses**.

 

 

The name of Allah appears **2,707 times** throughout the Quran.

 

 

The word **"Walyatalattaf" (and let him be gentle)** is at the center of all Quranic words, and the letter **"Ta"** within it is at the center of all Quranic letters.
