 1. Muhammad (محمد)

 

 

**Surah Al-'Imran 3:144**

 

 

 وَمَا مُحَمَّدٌ إِلَّا رَسُولٌ قَدْ خَلَتْ مِن قَبْلِهِ الرُّسُلُ

 

 

> "Muhammad is not but a messenger. [Other] messengers have passed on before him."

 

 

**Surah Al-Ahzab 33:40**

 

 

 مَّا كَانَ مُحَمَّدٌ أَبَا أَحَدٍ مِّن رِّجَالِكُمْ وَلَٰكِن رَّسُولَ اللَّهِ وَخَاتَمَ النَّبِيِّينَ

 

 

> "Muhammad is not the father of [any] one of your men, but [he is] the Messenger of Allah and the seal of the prophets."

**Surah Muhammad 47:2**

 

 

 وَالَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ وَآمَنُوا بِمَا نُزِّلَ عَلَىٰ مُحَمَّدٍ وَهُوَ الْحَقُّ مِن رَّبِّهِمْ

 

 

> "And those who believe and do righteous deeds and believe in what has been sent down upon Muhammad - and it is the truth from their Lord."

 

 

**Surah Al-Fath 48:29**

 

 مُّحَمَّدٌ رَّسُولُ اللَّهِ

 

 

> "Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah."

 

 

 

 

 2. Ahmad (أحمد)

 

 

**Surah As-Saff 61:6**

 

 

 وَإِذْ قَالَ عِيسَى ابْنُ مَرْيَمَ يَا بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ إِنِّي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ إِلَيْكُم مُّصَدِّقًا لِّمَا بَيْنَ يَدَيَّ مِنَ التَّوْرَاةِ وَمُبَشِّرًا بِرَسُولٍ يَأْتِي مِن بَعْدِي اسْمُهُ أَحْمَدُ

 

 

> "And [mention] when Jesus, the son of Mary, said, 'O children of Israel, indeed I am the messenger of Allah to you confirming what came before me of the Torah and bringing good tidings of a messenger to come after me, whose name is Ahmad.'"

 

 

 

 3. Rasul (رسول) - Messenger

 

 

**Surah Al-A'raf 7:158**

 

 

 قُلْ يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ إِنِّي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ إِلَيْكُمْ جَمِيعًا

 

 

> "Say, [O Muhammad], 'O mankind, indeed I am the Messenger of Allah to you all.'"

 

 

**Surah At-Tawbah 9:128**

 

 

 لَقَدْ جَاءَكُمْ رَسُولٌ مِّنْ أَنفُسِكُمْ عَزِيزٌ عَلَيْهِ مَا عَنِتُّمْ حَرِيصٌ عَلَيْكُم بِالْمُؤْمِنِينَ رَءُوفٌ رَّحِيمٌ

 

 

> "There has certainly come to you a Messenger from among yourselves. Grievous to him is what you suffer; [he is] concerned over you and to the believers is kind and merciful."

 

 

 

 4. Nabi (نبي) - Prophet

 

 

**Surah Al-A'raf 7:157**

 

 

 الَّذِينَ يَتَّبِعُونَ الرَّسُولَ النَّبِيَّ الْأُمِّيَّ

 

 

> "Those who follow the Messenger, the unlettered prophet."

 

 

**Surah Al-Ahzab 33:45**

 

 

 يَا أَيُّهَا النَّبِيُّ إِنَّا أَرْسَلْنَاكَ شَاهِدًا وَمُبَشِّرًا وَنَذِيرًا

 

 

> "O Prophet, indeed We have sent you as a witness and a bringer of good tidings and a warner."

 

 

 

 5. An-Nabi al-Ummi (النبي الأمي) - The Unlettered Prophet

 

 

**Surah Al-A'raf 7:157**

 

 

 الَّذِينَ يَتَّبِعُونَ الرَّسُولَ النَّبِيَّ الْأُمِّيَّ الَّذِي يَجِدُونَهُ مَكْتُوبًا عِندَهُمْ فِي التَّوْرَاةِ وَالْإِنجِيلِ

 

 

> "Those who follow the Messenger, the unlettered prophet, whom they find written in what they have of the Torah and the Gospel."

 

 

 

 6. Shahid (شاهد) - Witness

 

 

**Surah Al-Ahzab 33:45**

 

 

 يَا أَيُّهَا النَّبِيُّ إِنَّا أَرْسَلْنَاكَ شَاهِدًا وَمُبَشِّرًا وَنَذِيرًا

 

 

> "O Prophet, indeed We have sent you as a witness and a bringer of good tidings and a warner."

 

 

**Surah Al-Fath 48:8**

 

 إِنَّا أَرْسَلْنَاكَ شَاهِدًا وَمُبَشِّرًا وَنَذِيرًا

 

 

> "Indeed, We have sent you as a witness and a bringer of good tidings and a warner."

 

 

 

 7. Mubashshir (مبشر) - Bearer of Good News

 

 

**Surah Al-Ahzab 33:45**

 

 

 يَا أَيُّهَا النَّبِيُّ إِنَّا أَرْسَلْنَاكَ شَاهِدًا وَمُبَشِّرًا وَنَذِيرًا

 

 

> "O Prophet, indeed We have sent you as a witness and a bringer of good tidings and a warner."

 

 

**Surah Al-Fath 48:8**

 

 إِنَّا أَرْسَلْنَاكَ شَاهِدًا وَمُبَشِّرًا وَنَذِيرًا

 

 

> "Indeed, We have sent you as a witness and a bringer of good tidings and a warner."

 

 

 

 8. Nadhir (نذير) - Warner

 

 

**Surah Al-Ahzab 33:45**

 

 

 يَا أَيُّهَا النَّبِيُّ إِنَّا أَرْسَلْنَاكَ شَاهِدًا وَمُبَشِّرًا وَنَذِيرًا

 

 

> "O Prophet, indeed We have sent you as a witness and a bringer of good tidings and a warner."

 

 

**Surah Saba 34:28**

 

 

 وَمَا أَرْسَلْنَاكَ إِلَّا كَافَّةً لِّلنَّاسِ بَشِيرًا وَنَذِيرًا وَلَٰكِنَّ أَكْثَرَ النَّاسِ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ

 

 

> "And We have not sent you except comprehensively to mankind as a bringer of good tidings and a warner. But most of the people do not know."

 

 

 

9. Da'i ila Allah (داعي إلى الله) - Caller to Allah

 

 

**Surah Al-Ahzab 33:46**

 

 وَدَاعِيًا إِلَى اللَّهِ بِإِذْنِهِ وَسِرَاجًا مُّنِيرًا

 

 

> "And one who invites to Allah, by His permission, and an illuminating lamp."

 

 

 

 10. Siraj Munir (سراج منير) - Illuminating Lamp

 

 

**Surah Al-Ahzab 33:46**

 

 

 وَدَاعِيًا إِلَى اللَّهِ بِإِذْنِهِ وَسِرَاجًا مُّنِيرًا

 

 

> "And one who invites to Allah, by His permission, and an illuminating lamp."

 

 

 

 11. Rahmatun lil-Alamin (رحمة للعالمين) - Mercy to the Worlds

 

 

**Surah Al-Anbiya 21:107**

 

 وَمَا أَرْسَلْنَاكَ إِلَّا رَحْمَةً لِّلْعَالَمِينَ

 

 

> "And We have not sent you, [O Muhammad], except as a mercy to the worlds."

 

 

 

12. Abd Allah (عبد الله) - Servant of Allah

 

 

**Surah Al-Jinn 72:19**

 

 

 وَأَنَّهُ لَمَّا قَامَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ يَدْعُوهُ كَادُوا يَكُونُونَ عَلَيْهِ لِبَدًا

 

 

> "And that when the Servant of Allah stood up supplicating Him, they almost became about him a compacted mass."

 

 

 

 13. Khatam an-Nabiyyin (خاتم النبيين) - Seal of the Prophets

 

 

**Surah Al-Ahzab 33:40**

 

 

 مَّا كَانَ مُحَمَّدٌ أَبَا أَحَدٍ مِّن رِّجَالِكُمْ وَلَٰكِن رَّسُولَ اللَّهِ وَخَاتَمَ النَّبِيِّينَ

 

 

> "Muhammad is not the father of [any] one of your men, but [he is] the Messenger of Allah and the seal of the prophets."

 

 

 

 14. Ta-Ha (طه)

 

 

**Surah Ta-Ha 20:1-2**

 

 

 طه ۝ مَا أَنزَلْنَا عَلَيْكَ الْقُرْآنَ لِتَشْقَىٰ

 

 

> "Ta, Ha. We have not sent down to you the Qur'an that you be distressed."

 

 

*Note: Some scholars interpret Ta-Ha as one of the names of Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ).*

 

 

 

 15. Ya-Sin (يس)

 

 

**Surah Ya-Sin 36:1-3**

 

 

 يس ۝ وَالْقُرْآنِ الْحَكِيمِ ۝ إِنَّكَ لَمِنَ الْمُرْسَلِينَ

 

 

> "Ya, Sin. By the wise Qur'an. Indeed, you are from among the messengers."

 

 

*Note: Some scholars interpret Ya-Sin as one of the names of Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ).*

 

 

 

 16. Muzammil (مزمل) - The Enshrouded One

 

 

**Surah Al-Muzzammil 73:1-2**

 

 

 يَا أَيُّهَا الْمُزَّمِّلُ ۝ قُمِ اللَّيْلَ إِلَّا قَلِيلًا

 

 

> "O you who wraps himself [in clothing], Arise [to pray] the night, except for a little."

 

 

 

 17. Muddaththir (مدثر) - The Cloaked One

 

 

**Surah Al-Muddaththir 74:1-2**

 

 

 يَا أَيُّهَا الْمُدَّثِّرُ ۝ قُمْ فَأَنذِرْ

 

 

> "O you who covers himself [with a garment], Arise and warn."

 

 

 

 18. Udhun Khair (أذن خير) - Ear of Goodness

 

 

**Surah At-Tawbah 9:61**

 

 

 وَمِنْهُمُ الَّذِينَ يُؤْذُونَ النَّبِيَّ وَيَقُولُونَ هُوَ أُذُنٌ ۚ قُلْ أُذُنُ خَيْرٍ لَّكُمْ

 

 

> "And among them are those who abuse the Prophet and say, 'He is an ear.' Say, '[It is] an ear of goodness for you.'"

 

 

 

19. Shāhid, Mubashshir, Nadhir (شاهد ومبشر ونذير) Witness, Bringer of Good Tidings, Warner

 

 

**Surah Al-Fath 48:8**

 

 

 إِنَّا أَرْسَلْنَاكَ شَاهِدًا وَمُبَشِّرًا وَنَذِيرًا

 

 

> "Indeed, We have sent you as a witness and a bringer of good tidings and a warner."
