**NAMES OF JANNAH (PARADISE) IN THE QURAN**

 

 

 

**Names of Jannah in the Qur’an**

 

 

 

1. **الْجَنَّة (Al-Jannah)**

 

 

وَقَالُوا لَنْ يَدْخُلَ الْجَنَّةَ إِلَّا مَنْ كَانَ هُودًا أَوْ نَصَارَىٰ تِلْكَ أَمَانِيُّهُمْ قُلْ هَاتُوا بُرْهَانَكُمْ إِنْ كُنْتُمْ صَادِقِينَ

 

 

(111) And they say, "None will enter Paradise except one who is a Jew or a Christian." That is [merely] their wishful thinking. Say, "Produce your proof, if you should be truthful."

**(Surah Al-Baqarah, 2:111)**

 

 

 

 

2. **الْحُسْنَى (Al-Husna)**

 

 

وَكُلًّا وَعَدَ اللَّهُ الْحُسْنَىٰ وَفَضَّلَ اللَّهُ الْمُجَاهِدِينَ عَلَى الْقَاعِدِينَ أَجْرًا عَظِيمًا

 

 

Allāh has promised the best [reward]. But Allāh has preferred the mujāhideen over those who remain [behind] with a great reward -

 

**(Surah An-Nisa, 4:95)**

 

 

 

 

3. **الْغُرْفَة (Al-Ghurfah)**

 

 

أُولَٰئِكَ يُجْزَوْنَ الْغُرْفَةَ بِمَا صَبَرُوا وَيُلَقَّوْنَ فِيهَا تَحِيَّةً وَسَلَامًا

 

(75) Those will be awarded the Chamber for what they patiently endured, and they will be received therein with greetings and [words of] peace,

 

**(Surah Al-Furqan, 25:75)**

 

 

 

 

4. **الْفِرْدَوْس (Al-Firdaws)**

 

 

إِنَّ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ كَانَتْ لَهُمْ جَنَّاتُ الْفِرْدَوْسِ نُزُلًا

 

(107) Indeed, those who have believed and done righteous deeds - they will have the Gardens of Paradise as a lodging,

 

- i.e., the highest part of Paradise, Al-Firdaus

 

**(Surah Al-Kahf, 18:107)**

 

 

 

 

5. **جَنَّاتُ النَّعِيم (Jannatun-Na’eem)**

 

 

وَلَوْ أَنَّ أَهْلَ الْكِتَابِ آمَنُوا وَاتَّقَوْا لَكَفَّرْنَا عَنْهُمْ سَيِّئَاتِهِمْ وَلَأَدْخَلْنَاهُمْ جَنَّاتِ النَّعِيمِ

 

 

(65) And if only the People of the Scripture had believed and feared Allāh, We would have removed from them their misdeeds and admitted them to Gardens of Pleasure.

 

**(Surah Al-Ma’idah, 5:65)**

 

 

 

 

6. **جَنَّاتُ عَدْنٍ (Jannatu ‘Adn)**

 

 

وَمَسَاكِنَ طَيِّبَةً فِي جَنَّاتِ عَدْنٍ وَرِضْوَانٌ مِنَ اللَّهِ أَكْبَرُ ذَٰلِكَ هُوَ الْفَوْزُ الْعَظِيمُ

 

(72) Allāh has promised the believing men and believing women gardens beneath which rivers flow, wherein they abide eternally, and pleasant dwellings in gardens of perpetual residence; but approval from Allāh is greater. It is that which is the great attainment.

 

**(Surah At-Tawbah, 9:72)**

 

 

 

 

 

7. **جَنَّةُ الْخُلْدِ (Jannatul-Khuld)**

 

 

أَذَٰلِكَ خَيْرٌ أَمْ جَنَّةُ الْخُلْدِ الَّتِي وُعِدَ الْمُتَّقُونَ كَانَتْ لَهُمْ جَزَاءً وَمَصِيرًا

 

(15) Say, "Is that better or the Garden of Eternity which is promised to the righteous? It will be for them a reward and destination.

 

**(Surah Al-Furqan, 25:15)**

 

 

 

 

 

8. **جَنَّةٌ عَالِيَةٌ (Jannatun ‘Aaliyah)**

 

 

فِي جَنَّةٍ عَالِيَةٍ 

 

(22) In an elevated garden

 

**(Surah Al-Haqqah, 69:22)**

 

 

 

 

 

9. **دَارُ الْآخِرَةِ (Darul-Akhirah)**

 

 

قُلْ إِنْ كَانَتْ لَكُمُ الدَّارُ الْآخِرَةُ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ خَالِصَةً مِنْ دُونِ النَّاسِ فَتَمَنَّوُا الْمَوْتَ إِنْ كُنْتُمْ صَادِقِينَ

 

(94) Say, [O Muḥammad], "If the home of the Hereafter with Allāh is for you alone and not the [other] people, then wish for death, if you should be truthful."

 

**(Surah Al-Baqarah, 2:94)**

 

 

 

 

 

10. **دَارُ السَّلَامِ (Darus-Salaam)**

 

 

لَهُمْ دَارُ السَّلَامِ عِنْدَ رَبِّهِمْ وَهُوَ وَلِيُّهُمْ بِمَا كَانُوا يَعْمَلُونَ

 

(127) For them will be the Home of Peace [i.e., Paradise] with their Lord. And He will be their protecting friend because of what they used to do.

 

**(Surah Al-An’am, 6:127)**

 

 

 

 

11. **دَارُ الْقَرَارِ (Darul-Qarar)**

 

 

يَا قَوْمِ إِنَّمَا هَذِهِ الْحَيَاةُ الدُّنْيَا مَتَاعٌ وَإِنَّ الْآخِرَةَ هِيَ دَارُ الْقَرَارِ

 

(39) O my people, this worldly life is only [temporary] enjoyment, and indeed, the Hereafter - that is the home of [permanent] settlement.

 

**(Surah Ghafir, 40:39)**

 

 

 

 

12. **دَارُ الْمُتَّقِينَ (Darul-Muttaqeen)**

 

 

وَلَنِعْمَ دَارُ الْمُتَّقِينَ

 

(30) And it will be said to those who feared Allāh, "What did your Lord send down?" They will say, "[That which is] good." For those who do good in this world is good; and the home of the Hereafter is better. And how excellent is the home of the righteous -

 

**(Surah An-Nahl, 16:30)**

 

 

 

 

13. **دَارُ الْمُقَامَةِ (Darul-Muqamah)**

 

 

الَّذِي أَحَلَّنَا دَارَ الْمُقَامَةِ مِنْ فَضْلِهِ لَا يَمَسُّنَا فِيهَا نَصَبٌ وَلَا يَمَسُّنَا فِيهَا لُغُوبٌ

 

(35) He who has settled us in the home of duration [i.e., Paradise] out of His bounty. There touches us not in it any fatigue, and there touches us not in it weariness [of mind]."

 

**(Surah Fatir, 35:35)**
