Allah loves Kindness

 

One of the most beloved qualities of good character to Allah is kindness. Kindness and gentleness are traits that are inherently good, and whoever has them has been given his portion of goodness

 

عَنْ أُمِّ الدَّرْدَاءِ، عَنْ أَبِي الدَّرْدَاءِ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ‏:‏ مَنْ أُعْطِيَ حَظَّهُ مِنَ الرِّفْقِ فَقَدْ أُعْطِيَ حَظَّهُ مِنَ الْخَيْرِ، وَمَنْ حُرِمَ حَظَّهُ مِنَ الرِّفْقِ، فَقَدْ حُرِمَ حَظَّهُ مِنَ الْخَيْرِ، أَثْقَلُ شَيْءٍ فِي مِيزَانِ الْمُؤْمِنِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ حُسْنُ الْخُلُقِ، وَإِنَّ اللَّهَ لَيُبْغِضُ الْفَاحِشَ الْبَذِيَّ‏.‏

 

Al-Adab Al-Mufrad 464

 

Abu'd-Darda' reported that the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, "Whoever has been given his portion of compassion has been given his portion of good. Whoever is denied given his portion of compassion has been denied his portion of good. Good character will be the weightiest thing in the believer's balance on the Day of Rising. Allah hates a coarse, foul-mouthed person."

عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ هِلاَلٍ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ جَرِيرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، يَقُولُ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم ‏ "‏ مَنْ حُرِمَ الرِّفْقَ حُرِمَ الْخَيْرَ أَوْ مَنْ يُحْرَمِ الرِّفْقَ يُحْرَمِ الْخَيْرَ ‏"‏ ‏.‏

He who is deprived of kindness is deprived of goodness.

وعن عائشة أن النبى صلى الله عليه وسلم قال‏:‏ “إن الرفق لا يكون في شئ إلا زانه، ولا ينزع من شئ إلا شانه

 ‏(‏‏(‏رواه مسلم‏)‏‏)‏‏.‏

'Aishah (May Allah be pleased with her) reported:

The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Whenever kindness  is added to something, it adorns it; and whenever it is withdrawn from something, it leaves it defective."

 

[Muslim].

 

عن عائشة أن النبى صلى الله عليه وسلم قال‏:‏ ‏ "‏ إن الله رفيق يحب الرفق، ويعطى على الرفق ما لا يعطى على العنف ومالا يعطى على ما سواه‏"‏

‏(‏‏(‏رواه مسلم‏)‏‏)‏‏.‏

O Aisha, Allah is gentle and He loves gentleness. He rewards for gentleness what is not granted for harshness and He does not reward anything else like it.

عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم ‏ "‏ أَنَّ رَجُلاً رَأَى كَلْبًا يَأْكُلُ الثَّرَى مِنَ الْعَطَشِ، فَأَخَذَ الرَّجُلُ خُفَّهُ فَجَعَلَ يَغْرِفُ لَهُ بِهِ حَتَّى أَرْوَاهُ، فَشَكَرَ اللَّهُ لَهُ فَأَدْخَلَهُ الْجَنَّةَ ‏"‏‏.‏

 

A man saw a dog eating mud from (the severity of) thirst. So, that man took a shoe (and filled it) with water and kept on pouring the water for the dog till it quenched its thirst. So Allah approved of his deed and made him to enter Paradise."
