【They Failed to Appreciate Allah’s Greatness: The Message of Qur’an 39:67】
باب قَوْلِ اللَّهِ تَعَالَى {لِمَا خَلَقْتُ بِيَدَىَّ}
عَنْ عَبِيدَةَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، أَنَّ يَهُودِيًّا، جَاءَ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَقَالَ يَا مُحَمَّدُ إِنَّ اللَّهَ يُمْسِكُ السَّمَوَاتِ عَلَى إِصْبَعٍ وَالأَرَضِينَ عَلَى إِصْبَعٍ، وَالْجِبَالَ عَلَى إِصْبَعٍ، وَالشَّجَرَ عَلَى إِصْبَعٍ، وَالْخَلاَئِقَ عَلَى إِصْبَعٍ، ثُمَّ يَقُولُ أَنَا الْمَلِكُ. فَضَحِكَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم حَتَّى بَدَتْ نَوَاجِذُهُ ثُمَّ قَرَأَ {وَمَا قَدَرُوا اللَّهَ حَقَّ قَدْرِهِ}. قَالَ يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ وَزَادَ فِيهِ فُضَيْلُ بْنُ عِيَاضٍ عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ عَبِيدَةَ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ فَضَحِكَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم تَعَجُّبًا وَتَصْدِيقًا لَهُ.
🌿 English Translation
“A Jew came to the Prophet ﷺ and said, ‘O Muhammad! Allah will hold the heavens on a Finger, the earths on a Finger, the mountains on a Finger, the trees on a Finger, and all the creation on a Finger, and then He will say: “I am the King.”’
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ smiled until his premolar teeth became visible, and then recited: ‘They have not appraised Allah with true appraisal…’ (Qur’an 39:67).”
ʿAbdullāh added that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ smiled out of amazement and affirmation of what the Jew had said.

🤲 Duʿā for the Ummah
May ALLĀH grant Shifā to all those who are sick, Raḥmah to those who have passed away, and beautiful patience to their families and loved ones. Āmeen.
May ALLĀH protect every believer from oppression, injustice, the evil whisperings of Shayṭān, and the evil inclinations of our own souls. Āmeen.
May ALLĀH help all those who are oppressed, grant them relief and victory over their oppressors, and protect the Ummah from natural disasters and every form of harm. Āmeen.
