🛑ZINA :🚫 UNLAWFUL RELATIONSHIPS

💔 When Temptation Leads You Across the Line

Do not be afraid to read this. Read it as a reminder to yourself and to every Muslim who wants to protect their faith, marriage, family and relationship with Allah.

Zina is one of the serious sins warned against in Islam. Allah does not only tell us to avoid zina; He tells us not to go near it.

“Do not go near adultery. It is truly a shameful deed and an evil way.”

— Qur’an 17:32

That is a powerful warning. A believer should not only avoid the final act, but also avoid the paths that can lead there.

Protect Your Haya (Modesty)

Imagine having a husband or wife at home who trusts you, while secretly becoming involved with someone else.

Imagine teaching your children, “Stay away from zina,” while privately doing the very thing you warned them against.

Where is our haya? Where is our fear of Allah?

The Prophet ﷺ said:

“Haya (modesty) is a branch of faith.”

— Sahih al-Bukhari 9

A Muslim should protect his or her modesty and remember that privacy from people does not mean privacy from Allah.

🔐You may hide the messages.

🗑️You may delete the conversations.

📍You may lie about where you were.

But Allah knows.

“He knows the stealthy glances of the eyes and what the hearts conceal.

— Qur’an 40:19

Zina Often Begins Before the Final Act

Zina may begin with something that appears small.

A glance becomes a conversation.

💬A conversation becomes flirting.

💞Flirting becomes emotional attachment.

🔒Secret messages become secret meetings.

🚧And eventually, a boundary is crossed.

This is why Allah says:

“Do not go near zina.”

— Qur’an 17:32

🚫Do not play with temptation.

🔒Do not maintain secret relationships.

💬Do not entertain inappropriate conversations.

Do not convince yourself that you can keep walking toward the fire without eventually getting burned.

🚪Walk away while you still can.

Zina Can Destroy What You Already Have

A person may think, “It is only one mistake.”

But one sinful relationship can destroy years of trust.

It can hurt a husband or wife, affect children, damage families and leave behind emotional pain and regret.

A few moments of forbidden pleasure are not worth risking your marriage, your family, your dignity and your relationship with Allah.

The Prophet ﷺ warned strongly about adultery. When asked about the greatest sins, he mentioned associating partners with Allah, killing one's child, and then committing adultery with one's neighbour's wife.

“Then that you commit adultery with the wife of your neighbour.”

— Sahih Muslim 86a

This reminds us how seriously Islam treats the betrayal involved in zina.

Don't Believe Every Claim—Follow the Evidence

We should fear zina because Allah has forbidden it, not because we need to repeat unverified statements.

The Qur'an and authentic Sunnah already give us enough warning.

Allah calls zina a shameful deed and an evil way.

And Allah also leaves the door of repentance open.

“Except those who repent, believe and do righteous deeds. For them, Allah will change their evil deeds into good deeds.”

— Qur’an 25:70

What If You Have Already Fallen?

🌤️ Do not despair.

If you have committed zina, repent to Allah.

🛑 Stop the sin.

End the relationship that is taking you toward it.

💔 Feel sincere regret.

🤲 Ask Allah for forgiveness.

🛑 Make a firm intention not to return.

And remember the mercy of Allah.

“Indeed, Allah forgives all sins. Surely He is the Most Forgiving, Most Merciful.”

— Qur’an 39:53

Your past does not have to become your future.

Remember This When Temptation Comes

When nobody else is watching, Allah is watching.

When nobody else knows, Allah knows.

When you have an opportunity to commit the sin but walk away for the sake of Allah, Allah knows that too.

💍 Remember your spouse.

👨‍👩‍👧 Remember your children.

🕌 Remember your faith.

⚖️ Remember the Day of Judgment.

And remember that what you give up for Allah is never truly lost.

Allah says:

“Indeed, the patient will be given their reward without measure.”

— Qur’an 39:10

Repent Before It Is Too Late

Do not say:

“I will repent later.”

Nobody knows when death will come.

What if tonight is your last night?

What if the next sin you commit becomes the last deed recorded in your life?

⏳ Do not wait.

🚪 Leave the sin.

🔒 Leave the secret relationship.

🤲 Turn back to Allah.

🕊️ Make sincere tawbah.

Allah's mercy is greater than your sin when you sincerely return to Him.

May Allah protect our eyes from haram, our hearts from temptation, our marriages from betrayal and our souls from zina. May Allah grant us haya, taqwa and the strength to walk away from everything that displeases Him.

[A SISTER’S GUIDE TO NAVIGATING LIFE]

[DEAR SISTER: WISDOM FOR LIFE’S JOURNEY]

🔸 Surround Yourself With Righteous Sisters

The people we surround ourselves with can greatly influence our faith and character.

“A person is upon the religion of his close friend, so let each of you look at whom he befriends.”

[Sunan al-Tirmidhī 2378]

Choose sisters who remind you of Allah ﷻ, encourage obedience, and help you remain firm upon the truth.

🔸 Guard Your Modesty

Allah ﷻ says:

“And do not display yourselves as was the display of the former times of ignorance.”

[Al-Aḥzāb 33:33]

Protect yourself from Tabarruj "unlawful display of beauty," and guard your beauty from non-maḥram men.

Allah ﷻ also says:

“And tell the believing women to lower their gaze and guard their chastity.”

[An-Nūr 24:31]

This includes guarding your gaze both in public and online.

🔸 Be Careful With Your Speech

Allah ﷻ says:

“Do not be soft in speech, lest one in whose heart is a disease should be tempted.”

[Al-Aḥzāb 33:32]

Keep interactions with non-maḥrams respectful and necessary. Avoid unnecessary joking, flirting, or conversations that can open doors to temptation.

🔸 Be Careful Who You Follow

Not everyone presented online as a “celebrity,” “influencer,” or “hijabi” should become an example for you.

Guard your heart and your īmān.

Instead, take inspiration from the Mothers of the Believers رضي الله عنهن, the daughters of the Prophet ﷺ, and the righteous women of Islam.

Study their lives. Learn how they worshipped Allah, maintained modesty, showed patience, and carried themselves with dignity.

🔸 Honour Your Husband & Family

Treat your husband and family with respect, kindness, and good character.

“The best of you are those who are best to their families, and I am the best of you to my family.”

[Sunan al-Tirmidhī 3895]

🔸 Stay Away From Backbiting

Allah ﷻ gives us a powerful warning:

“Do not backbite one another. Would any of you love to eat the flesh of his dead brother? You would detest it.”

[Al-Ḥujurāt 49:12]

The Prophet ﷺ also warned against backbiting and searching for the faults of others.

“O those who have believed with their tongues but faith has not entered their hearts! Do not backbite the Muslims or seek out their faults…”

[Sunan Abī Dāwūd 4880]

Do not only avoid backbiting yourself—leave gatherings where backbiting is taking place.

🌿 A Final Reminder

Sisters, protect your īmān, Hayaā’, eyes, tongue, friendships, and heart.

The world constantly presents people for us to imitate. Choose your role models carefully and let the righteous women of Islam be your example.

May Allah ﷻ grant our sisters ḥayā’, sincerity, righteous companionship, strong īmān, and beautiful character. May He protect them from temptation and make them among the righteous women of Jannah.

MARRAGE IN ISLAM

wp-1472247928869.gif

Marriage is a union of souls, in the deepest sense. Allah (God) joins these two souls together so that they may enjoy tranquility and stability in a marital home filled with sincere love and compassionate mercy.

The Quran says:

[Surah Ar-Rûm: 21]

"Among His Signs Is That He Created Companion (Partner,Spouse) For You From Among Yourself, So That You May Find Tranquility With Them, And (He) Set Love And Mercy Between You. Surely In This Are Signs For People Who Reflect" (30:21).

Al-Haafidh Ibn Katheer (d.774H) – rahimahullaah – said whilst explaining the terms muwaddah and rahmah which occur in the above aayah:

"Al-muwaddah means love and affection and Ar-rahmah means compassion and pity – since a man takes a woman either due to his love for her, or because of compassion and pity for her; by giving to her a child from himself…"

[Tafseer Qur`aanil A’dtheem (3/439) of al-Haafidh Ibn Katheer.]

Prophet Muhammad (SAW) advice regarding the choice of a spouse:

As the best of all leaders, the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) knew his community well and understood that there are very real considerations that must be taken into account when selecting a spouse. Therefore The most comprehensive advice given regarding the choice of a spouse is the teaching of our beloved Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) who said, on the authority of Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him),

"A woman is married for four things: her wealth, her family status, her beauty, and her religion. So you should marry the religious (pious) woman (otherwise) you will be losers."

(Al-Bukhari, Book 62, hadith 27).

A Poor Pious Man is a Better Marriage Suitor than a Rich Man Who is Not Pious

Hadeeth recorded by Imam Al Bukhari on the Authority of sahl bin saad As saeedi

A man passed by Allah's Apostle and Allah's Apostle asked (his companions) "What do you say about this (man)?"

They replied, "If he asks for a lady's hand, he ought to be given her in marriage; and if he intercedes (for someone) his intercessor should be accepted; and if he speaks, he should be listened to." Allah's Apostle kept silent, and then a man from among the poor Muslims passed by, an Allah's Apostle asked (them) "What do you say about this man?"

They replied, "If he asks for a lady's hand in marriage he does not deserve to be married, and he intercedes (for someone), his intercession should not be accepted; And if he speaks, he should not be listened to." Allah's Apostle corrected the companions and said,

"This poor man is better than so many of the first as filling the earth."

Hadeeth recorded by Imam At Tirmizi and Ibn majah on the Authority of Abu Hurayrah the

Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said,

'When someone with whose religion and character you are satisfied asks your daughter in marriage, accede to his request. If you do not do so, there will be temptation on Earth and extensive corruption.'

[Tirmidhi, Nasa'i and Ibn Majah]

As Muslims, we believe that Allah wants the best for us, and that His Prophet (saws) illustrated this through his own life. So note that by following the advise of our own Creator, and that of His beloved servant, we can only be successful.

Dua for bride and bridegroom

Abu Huraira said that when the Prophet congratulated* a man on his marriage he said, “God bless you, bless you both, and prosper your union.”

Ahmad, Tirmidhi, Abu Dawud and Ibn Majah transmitted it

Note: The bride may also make the same prayer with respect to the bridegroom

The Importance of a good wife to her husband (and of course vice versa) is Great to Allah (SWT). Nothing can illustrate the point better than the Qur'anic statement which describes the righteous people as those who pray:

[Surah Al-Furqân: 74]

"Rabba-na hab la-na min azwaji-na wa dhuriyyati-na qurrata a'yunin wa aj'al-na li al muttaqin imama"

"Our Rabb! Make our Life Partners (spouse) and our Children to be the Comfort (joy) of our Eyes, and make us Leaders of the Righteous ...

Sura 25 Al-Furqan Verse 74

Ameen
