Simple ways to Build Your House in Jannah

The Palaces and Tents of Paradise

[Surah At-Tawbah: 72]

Allāh has promised the believing men and believing women gardens beneath which rivers flow, wherein they abide eternally, and pleasant dwellings in gardens of perpetual residence; but approval from Allāh is greater. It is that which is the great attainment

[9:72]

In some places in the Qur’an, Allah (ﷻ) described these dwellings as ghurafaat [chambers or dwellings]:

[Surah Sabaʾ: 37]

“And they will reside in the high dwellings [Paradise] in peace and security.” [34:37]

The reward for the slaves of the all-Merciful will be:

[Surah Al-Furqān: 75]

“Those will be rewarded with the highest place [in Paradise] because of their patience. Therein they shall be met with greetings and the word of peace and respect” [25:75]

Allah (ﷻ) described these Ghurafaat (ROOMS ):

[Surah Az-Zumar: 20]

“But for those who fear Allah and keep their duty to their Rabb [Allah], for them are built lofty rooms, one above the other, under which rivers flow. [This is] the Promise of Allah, and Allah does not fail in [His] Promise.” [39:20]

Abu Malik al-Ash‘ari reported Allah’s Messenger as saying, “In paradise there are rooms the outside of which can be seen from within and the inside from without which God has prepared for those who speak gently, provide food, observe frequent fasting, and pray during the night when people are asleep.”

Baihaqi transmitted it in Shu'ab al-iman and Tirmidhi transmitted something similar from ‘Ali. In his version it says “for those who speak pleasantly.”

Allah (ﷻ) has told us that there are tents or pavilions in Paradise:

{ حُورࣱ مَّقۡصُورَ ٰتࣱ فِی ٱلۡخِیَامِ }

[Surah Ar-Raḥmān: 72]

“Houris [beautiful, fair females] restrained in pavilions” [55:72]

These pavilions are wondrous tents, made of pearls, each one is made from a single, hollowed-out pearl. They are sixty miles high; according to some reports they are sixty miles wide.

Al-Bukhaari reports from ‘Abdullaah ibn Qays that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said,

The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "A tent (in Paradise) is like a hollow pearl which is thirty miles in height and on every corner of the tent the believer will have a family that cannot be seen by the others." (Narrated Abu `Imran in another narration, "The tent is sixty miles in height.")
