The provisions of this life can be of two kinds:
Good and beneficial provisions
Deceptive provisions
The difference is not simply in how much a person possesses, but in what those provisions do to his heart.
Good Provisions
“Seek forgiveness from your Lord and then repent to Him; He will grant you good provision for a specified time.”
[Hลซd 11:3]
Good provisions are those which bring a person closer to Allah
When Allah blesses someone with wealth, health, family, knowledge, time, or other blessings, the believer becomes more grateful and uses those blessings in obedience.
“If you are grateful, I will surely increase you.”
[Ibrฤhฤซm 14:7]
So ask yourself:
Has what Allah gave me made me more grateful—or more heedless?
⚠️ Deceptive Provisions
Allah ๏ทป warns us:
“The life of this world is nothing but the enjoyment of delusion.”
[ฤl สฟImrฤn 3:185]
A person may receive more wealth, status, comfort, and worldly success, yet these blessings can become a test if they make him forget Allah
What appears to be a blessing may become a means of loss if it causes a person to become arrogant, sinful, or attached to the dunya.
The Real Measure of Success
The Prophet ๏ทบ taught us that true wealth is not simply having more possessions.
“Richness is not having many possessions; rather, true richness is the richness of the soul.”
[แนขaแธฅฤซแธฅ al-Bukhฤrฤซ 6446; แนขaแธฅฤซแธฅ Muslim 1051]
The greatest blessing is therefore not necessarily the person who has the most, but the person who is most grateful and obedient with what Allah has given him.
Let Your Blessings Benefit You Use what Allah ๏ทป has given you to:
Worship Him sincerely.
❤️ Benefit your family and others.
Give charity.
Seek beneficial knowledge.
Develop good character.
Fulfil the rights of Allah and His creation.
“Indeed, Allah does not allow the reward of those who do good to be lost.”
[At-Tawbah 9:120]
A Final Reminder
Do not only ask Allah ๏ทป for more provisions.
Ask Him for blessed provisions.
Ask Him for wealth that increases your generosity, knowledge that increases your humility, health that increases your worship, and time that brings you closer to Him.
The greatest blessing is the one that brings you closer to the One who gave it.
May Allah ๏ทป make our provisions ู َุชَุงุนًุง ุญَุณًَูุง, bless what He has given us, protect us from the deception of the dunya, and make every blessing a means of success in this life and the Hereafter.
