WHAT DIS HESUS (AS )REALLY SAY?

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

All praise is to Allah, and may peace and blessings be upon the Messenger of Allah.

 

هذه الأبيات لابن قيِّم الجوزية, رَحِمَه الله

أَعُبَّادَ الْمَسِيحِ لَنَا سُؤَالٌ *** نُرِيدُ جَوَابَهُ مِمَّنْ وَعَاهُ

 

إِذَا مَاتَ الْإِلٰهُ بِصُنْعِ قَوْمٍ *** أَمَاتُوهُ فَمَا هَٰذَا الْإِلٰهُ؟

 

 

O worshipers of Christ, we have a question—
We seek its answer from one who comprehends it:

 

If God dies by the hands of a people,
They killed Him—so what kind of God is this?

 

---

 

وَهَلْ أَرْضَاهُ مَا نَالُوهُ مِنْهُ؟ *** فَبُشْرَاهُمْ إِذَا نَالُوا رِضَاهُ

 

وَإِنْ سَخِطَ الَّذِي فَعَلُوهُ فِيهِ *** فَقُوَّتُهُمْ إِذَا أَوْهَتْ قُوَاهُ

 

 

And was He pleased with what they did to Him?
Then glad tidings to them if they attained His pleasure.

 

But if He was angered by what they did to Him,
Then woe to them, for it has shattered His strength.

 

---

 

هَلْ بَقِيَ الْوُجُودُ بِلَا إِلٰهٍ *** سَمِيعٍ يَسْتَجِيبُ لِمَنْ دَعَاهُ؟

 

وَهَلْ خَلَتِ الطِّبَاقُ السَّبْعُ لَمَّا *** ثَوَى تَحْتَ التُّرَابِ وَقَدْ عَلَاهُ؟

 

 

Does existence remain without a God—
All-Hearing, Responding to those who call upon Him?

 

Did the seven heavens become empty when
He was laid beneath the earth, though He is above all?

 

---

وَهَلْ خَلَتِ الْعَوَالِمُ مِنْ إِلٰهٍ *** يُدَبِّرُهَا وَقَدْ سُمِّرَتْ يَدَاهُ؟

 

وَكَيْفَ تَخَلَّتِ الْأَمْلَاكُ عَنْهُ *** بِنَصْرِهِمْ وَقَدْ سَمِعُوا بُكَاهُ؟

 

Did the worlds become devoid of a God
Who manages them, while His hands were nailed?

 

And how did the angels abandon Him,
Withholding help when they heard His cries?

 

---

وَكَيْفَ أَطَاقَتِ الْخَشَبَاتُ حَمْلَ *** الْإِلٰهِ الْحَقِّ شُدَّ عَلَى قَفَاهُ؟

 

وَكَيْفَ دَنَا الْحَدِيدُ إِلَيْهِ حَتَّى *** يُخَالِطَهُ وَيَلْحَقَهُ أَذَاهُ؟

 

How could the wooden beams endure the burden
Of the True God, bound upon His back?

 

How did iron draw near to Him until
It mingled with Him and caused Him harm?

 

---

 

وَكَيْفَ تَمَكَّنَتْ أَيْدِي عِدَاهُ *** وَطَالَتْ حَيْثُ قَدْ صَفَعُوا قَفَاهُ؟

 

وَهَلْ عَادَ الْمَسِيحُ إِلَى حَيَاةٍ *** أَمِ الْمُحْيِي لَهُ رَبٌّ سِوَاهُ؟

 

 

How did the hands of His enemies prevail,
Stretching forth to strike His back?

 

Did Christ return to life by himself,
Or was the One who revived Him a Lord other than Him?

 

---

 

وَيَا عَجَبًا لِقَبْرٍ ضَمَّ رَبًّا *** وَأَعْجَبُ مِنْهُ بَطْنٌ قَدْ حَوَاهُ

 

أَقَامَ هُنَاكَ تِسْعًا مِنْ شُهُورٍ *** لَدَى الظُّلُمَاتِ مِنْ حَيْضٍ غَذَّاهُ

 

 

And oh, how strange—a grave that embraced a Lord!
Yet stranger still, a womb once contained Him.

 

He remained there for nine months,
In darkness, nourished by menstrual blood.

 

---

 

وَشَقَّ الْفَرْجَ مَوْلُودًا صَغِيرًا *** ضَعِيفًا فَاتِحًا لِلثَّدْيِ فَاهُ

 

وَيَأْكُلُ ثُمَّ يَشْرَبُ ثُمَّ يَأْتِي *** بِلَازِمِ ذَاكَ، هَلْ هَٰذَا إِلٰهٌ؟

 

He emerged from the womb a small infant,
Weak, opening his mouth for the breast.

 

He ate, then drank, then answered the call of nature—
Is this befitting of a God?

تَعَالَى اللَّهُ عَنْ أَفْكِ النَّصَارَى *** سَيُسْأَلُ كُلُّهُمْ عَمَّا افْتَرَاهُ

 

أَعْبَادَ الصَّلِيبِ بِأَيِّ مَعْنًى *** يُعَظَّمُ، أَوْ يُقْبَحُ مَنْ رَمَاهُ؟

 

 

Exalted is Allah above the lies of the Christians—
They will all be questioned for what they have fabricated.

 

O worshipers of the Cross, by what meaning
Is it revered, or by what meaning is it scorned if defiled?

 

---

 

وَهَلْ تَقْضِي الْعُقُولُ بِغَيْرِ كَسْرٍ *** وَإِحْرَاقٍ لَهُ وَلِمَنْ بَغَاهُ؟

 

إِذَا رُكِبَ الْإِلٰهُ!! عَلَيْهِ كَرْهًا *** وَقَدْ شُدَّتْ بِتَسْمِيرِ يَدَاهُ؟

 

 

Do not sound minds demand its breaking
And burning, along with those who desire it?

 

If God was mounted upon it unwillingly,
And His hands were bound by nailing,

 

---

 

فَذَاكَ الْمَرْكَبُ الْمَلْعُونُ حَقًّا *** فَدَسَّهُ لا تَبْسَهُ إِذْ تَرَاهُ

 

يُهَانُ عَلَيْهِ رَبُّ الْخَلْقِ طُرًّا *** وَتَعْبُدُهُ؟ فَإِنَّكَ مِنْ عَدَاهُ

 

 

Then that is the accursed mount indeed—
Trample it, do not touch it when you see it.

 

Upon it, the Lord of all creation was humiliated,
Yet you worship it? Then you are among His enemies.

 

---

 

فَإِنَّ عِظَمَتَهُ مِنْ أَجْلِ أَنَّ قَدْ *** حَوَى رَبَّ الْعِبَادِ وَقَدْ عَلَاهُ

 

فَهَلَا لِلْقُبُورِ سَجَدَتْ طُرًّا *** لِضَمِّ الْقَبْرِ رَبَّكَ فِي حِشَاهُ؟

 

 

If you revere it because it bore
The Lord of all creation, and He was elevated upon it,

 

Then why not prostrate to all graves,
For your Lord was contained within their depths?

فَيَا عَبْدَ الْمَسِيحِ أُفُقْ فَهَذَا *** بَدَايَتُهُ وَهَذَا مُنْتَهَاهُ

 

So, O worshiper of Christ, awaken—
This was His beginning, and this is His end.

Refrence:

 

“Al‑Jawab as‑Sahih li man Badal Deen al‑Maseeh” by Ibn al‑Qayyim al‑Jawziyyah 

 

الجواب الصحيح لمن بدل دين المسيح

 

This literally means: “The Correct Answer to the One Who Altered the Religion of Christ.”

 

وَصَلَّى اللَّهُ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى نَبِيِّنَا مُحَمَّدٍ، وَالْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ

 

And may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon our Prophet Muhammad, and all praise is to Allah, the Lord of the worlds.
