[Surah Az-Zumar: 53]
Say: oh my slaves, those who have transgressed!
Allah ﷻ says اسرفوا Transgressed!
Meaning He is being compassionate towards to you!
He didn’t say
(Committed a great sin)!
He didn’t say
(Committed a Crime)!
Say: oh my slaves who have transgressed against themselves
Don’t despair in the mercy of Allah
Surely Allah forgives all sins
Surely He is the most forgiving, the most beneficent!
[39:53]
Allah ﷻ sends down this Ayah, for the sinners, for the struggling, for those in disarray!
Oh you who have transgressed!
Allah ﷻ wants you to repent sincerely!
So that He ﷻ may accept it!
Don’t let the guilt of your sin, which is a sign of your Imaan, let you fall into the trap of Shaytaan!
Rather Allah ﷻ loves that you repent!
Surely Allah loves those who repent!
[2:222]
So what keeps you away from the repentance of Allah ﷻ?!
When Allah ﷻ says in a Hadith Qudsi
“O son of Adam, so long as you call upon Me and ask of Me, I shall forgive you for what you have done, and I shall not mind. O son of Adam, were your sins to reach the clouds of the sky and were you then to ask forgiveness of Me, I would forgive you. O son of Adam, were you to come to Me with sins nearly as great as the earth and were you then to face Me, ascribing no partner to Me, I would bring you forgiveness nearly as great as it.”
[Sunan al-Tirmidhī 3540 Graded saheeh ]
We will sin, it is in our nature to be weak and sinful at times,
Yet we must repent,
And this is what separates those in Jannah and those in the fire!
As the Prophet ﷺ said
“Every son of Adam sins, and the best of those who sin are those who repent”
[Sunan al-Tirmidhī 2499]
And Allah ﷻ says
Not equal are the people of Hell and the people of Jannah,
