Never Lose Sight of Your Blessings: An Islamic Reflection
🌷Ibn al Qayyim said:
“No slave of Allāh commits a sin except that a blessing from Allāh is removed from him equal to that sin."
* “Do not be fooled if you do not see the effect of your sin immediately, because you may experience its effect after 40 years!” *
"Whenever sins increase, loneliness/gloom intensifies."
🌷Layth reported that al-Ḥakam ibn ʿUtaybah said:
*“When a man has many sins but does not have enough (good) deeds that would lead to his sins being forgiven, *
*Then he is afflicted by Allah with al-ḥuzn (ie: sadness) in order to expiate them for him.” *
🥶 Effect of Past Sins
Abdullah, the son of (Imām) Aḥmad reports that when Muhammad bin Sirin was overcome by his debts, he was struck by anguish and he said:
"Indeed, I know that this anguish is a result of a sin I committed forty years ago."
🌷Ibn al-Jawzī رحمه الله said
“The punishment could be delayed till the end of one’s life for sins done when young.”
